Wood Fence Installation in Elizabeth City, NC
Wood is the fence most people picture when they picture a fence. Warm, solid and private in a way no other material quite matches, and still the most affordable way to enclose a large yard.
It is also the material the coast is hardest on. Salt air, summer humidity and winter storms work on wood constantly, and a wood fence built the way it would be built two hundred miles inland does not last here. How it goes in matters more than what it costs.
We have been installing wood fence in Elizabeth City and the surrounding counties since 1976, and the details we do not skip are the ones that decide whether a fence lasts eight years or twenty: pressure-treated posts set in concrete, hot-dipped galvanized or coated fasteners that will not bleed rust streaks down the boards within a season, and proper spacing so the boards move with the weather instead of splitting.
Styles we install
- Board-on-board and stockade — full privacy, usually 6 ft
- Shadowbox — privacy from the street, air moving through the fence, and it looks finished from both sides, which matters if you share the line with a neighbor
- Picket — 3 to 4 ft, front yards and cottage-style properties
- Split rail and post-and-rail — property lines, paddocks and larger lots
- Custom heights, layouts and matching gates
Most residential wood fence here is pressure-treated pine. Cedar is available where you want the color and the longer natural life without treatment. We will walk the property with you, talk through what you are actually trying to solve — privacy, pets, children, a property line, curb appeal — and recommend from there rather than from a catalogue.
Repairs and replacement
If your fence is leaning, if posts have gone soft at the ground line, or if a storm took out a section, we repair wood fence as well as install it. Often a handful of posts and a few panels will buy you several more years, and we will tell you when that is the sensible option. We will also tell you when it is not.
